Kamari is one of the closest villages to the airport. The road runs along the flat east side of the island, with no cliff-top driving, so you can be on the beach within an hour of landing.
Taxis wait outside arrivals. Santorini has a limited number of them, so expect a wait in July and August or when several flights land together.
Fares change from year to year, so confirm the price with the driver before you set off.
The most relaxed option, especially for late arrivals. Send us your flight number on WhatsApp, Viber or by email and we will help arrange a transfer, so a driver is waiting for you at arrivals.
There is no direct bus from the airport to Kamari. Take the bus to Fira, the main bus station, and change to the Kamari line.
Each leg costs a few euros and the trip usually takes 30–45 minutes or more, depending on connections. Carry some cash, and note that timetables are reduced outside the summer season.
Several rental companies operate at or near the airport. A car is the easiest way to see the whole island, and parking in Kamari is far simpler than in Fira or Oia. We can also help you rent a car or moto for just a day or two of your stay.
Ferries arrive at Athinios port, on the west side of the island below the caldera. The drive to Kamari is longer than from the airport and climbs a steep, winding road, and traffic builds when large ferries arrive. A transfer booked in advance is the least stressful option.
About 2.5 km, under ten minutes by car.
